Autumn Makeup 2017

IMG_4822

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that last year I made a post on Autumn Makeup (if not, you can read it here). It was a popular post, so I thought I’d bring it back again this year!

I’ve compiled some different makeup products from last time that I’m going to be using on the regular this season. From my favourite berry red lip products, golden eyeshadows and also the base products. If you know me, you’ll know that autumn is my favourite season, and also my favourite season for makeup!

Here’s what makeup I’ll find in my makeup bag this season..

FACE

CONCEALER

I only wear foundations on special occasions, and opt for a little concealer if I need it. At the moment I’m loving the Revlon Colorstay concealer, and need to go and purchase another one soon..as you can see from the photo I’m running a little low! It’s priced at £6.99, and it has LOADS of different shades so you can quite easily find one to match your skin tone.

HIGHLIGHTER & BLUSH:

I’m a MASSIVE fan of the NYX Illuminating Palette, and there’s one shade in there that I’ve recently hit pan on. I use it every single day, and it lasts honestly the whole day. I couldn’t ask for a better highlighter! But recently I’ve been trying out Benefit’s Dandelion Twinkle. I’m a big fan of their Dandelion blush, and I swatched the highlighter at their counter and fell in love. It’s a pricey one at £24.50, but it’s a lovely highlight- just look at it! You can really build up on the highlight if you want to, or have more of a subtle glow. It’s definitely going to be something that I’ll be wearing a lot this autumn!

Again if you’ve read my blog for a while, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Soap and Glory makeup. One of my favourite products is their “Love at First Blush” shimmer powder. This is a blush that has a beautiful muted rose gold finish, something that will be perfect for autumn.

BRONZE:

I was never a massive bronzer fan, until I found the Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick. Bronzing and contouring is made easy with this product! It’s a buildable product or you can just add a little for a subtle bronze. I think bronzing your face is really nice for this season, having just come out of summer.

EYES

Here’s some eye products that I’ll definitely be using in my autumn makeup routine…

EYESHADOW:

I feel the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette has a great range of autumnal colours to offer. Also, can we admire how good these eyeshadows smell? Salted Caramel and Marzipan are my two favourite shades; when put together they make the perfect golden eye. Creme Brulee, Hazelnut, Gilded Ganache and Amaretto are colours I also think would be perfect for this season.

An eyeshadow product that’s been a long-term favourite for me is the Clinique eyeshadow Chubby Stick in the shade “Bountiful Beige”. It’s a beautiful gold shimmering shadow stick, which I think you could pull off on it’s own for a subtle golden eye or even use as a base for other shadows.

MASCARA:

I’ve finally joined the hype with the super popular Maybelline Lash Sensational.  I was a bit dubious at first, but now I’m seriously in love with it. It’s a great dupe for Benefit’s Rollerlash mascara, and so much more affordable! Yes Maybelline, you’ve done good!

LIPS

LIPSTICK:

You can read my review on it here, but I think Mac’s lipstick in the shade ‘Twig” is the perfect colour for autumn. It’s quite a soft muted brown pink, which I think would work perfectly if you’re not feeling like wearing a deep, berry lipstick but still want to be all autumnal with your lipstick choice.

LIPGLOSS

Would it really be a Full of Grace makeup post without including a Tanya Burr lipgloss?Tanya’s lipglosses are definitely some of my favourite on the market; they’re long lasting, beautiful colours and not too sticky! The shade “Berry Picking” is another product I’ve mentioned before. I really think this lipgloss just screams autumn…even with the name! It’s a beautiful deep berry red with a subtle hint of gold shimmer.

Mac Lipstick Review | Twig

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve done a makeup post, so I thought I’d post a little review on my latest purchase.

I’ve always wanted a MAC lipstick in my collection, but I always thought they were slightly hyped. Every time I visit a Mac store, you’ll find me swatching the lipstick shade ‘Twig’ and debating whether or not to purchase. Recently, after discovering there was 10% off Mac on the Debenhams website, I decided to treat myself and buy Twig.

I have to admit, Twig is everything I dreamed of. Highly pigmented, long lasting, and such a beautiful colour. I’d describe the shade as a soft muted brown pink. I think Twig would suit so many skin tones, it’s a really versatile colour that I think anyone could pull off!

The lipstick is a satin finish. If you’re not familiar with Mac lipsticks, they have lots of different finishes- matte, cremesheen, frost…etc. Twig is a satin finish, meaning they’re very pigmented like Mac’s matte lipsticks, however with a slight sheen. They feel a lot more moisturising on the lips, and they’re a lot less drying than the matte formulas. I love this finish because I have VERY dry lips, so tend to steer clear of matte finishes, so satin is a great alternative!

Twig is such a beautiful lipstick, and has definitely made me see why so many go to Mac for lipsticks. What’s your favourite Mac lipstick?

Twig is available to buy here.
